2025年04月01日

Under the organization by Ms. Tina Y. Lo, CNAIC Vice Chairman and Co-convener of the Young Entrepreneurs Affairs Committee (YEAC), the “Young Entrepreneurs Groups Networking Dinner,” a major event of the YEAC, was held at Regent Taipei Hotel on April 1, 2025. The dinner was honored by the presence of President Lai Ching-te who outlined the government’s blueprint for economic developments during a keynote speech titled “Taiwan’s New Economic Landscape in a Changing World.” President Lai first indicated that in light of geopolitical changes and the rise of the era of smart technology, the government has, based on Taiwan's industrial strengths, proposed “Five Trusted Industry Sectors,” including semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), military, security and surveillance, and next-generation communications, in a bid to continuously boost Taiwan’s technological and economic advantages. Secondly, the government has also worked to improve the investment climate to give Taiwanese businesses greater confidence to invest in Taiwan. Through the "Three Major Programs for Investing in Taiwan,” many overseas Taiwanese companies have returned to Taiwan, bringing in over NT$2.5 trillion in investment and creating 160,000 new jobs. In terms of supporting startups, the government has built the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Rainforest Ecosystem” along with the national brand of “Startup Island TAIWAN,” aiming to help companies explore overseas markets and promote Taiwan in the international arena, added President Lai. In particular, these initiatives include the establishment of clusters like the Startup Terrace in Linkou and Kaohsiung which offer more accesses to financing by easing relevant regulations and providing tax incentives for over 1,500 startup companies that they currently house. While Taiwan is pursuing the goal of dual transformation on net-zero and digitalization, President Lai called for the joint efforts by the private and public sectors to address the upcoming challenges with groundbreaking methods. He encouraged the business community to collaborate with the government to help Taiwan move forward, making it a better country for the next generation and for the world.

The successful networking dinner was joined by CNAIC’s YEAC members and VIP guests, including Mr. Pan Men-an, Secretary-General to the President, CNAIC Chairman Mr. Thomas T. L. Wu, Vice Chairman Mr. Huang, Chiao-chang, Executive Director of the Board Mr. Steven Pan, as well as other CNAIC Board Members and Supervisors. At the invitation of YEAC, also present at the dinner were some 150 young entrepreneurs from nine business organizations, including: (1)The Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI); (2)The General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China (ROCCOC); (3)The Third Wednesday Association; (4)Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA); (5)Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI); (6)The National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association (NiEA); (7)Taiwan Women on Boards Association (WOB); (8)Taoyuan Young Entrepreneur Group (TEC YEG); and (9)The Entrepreneur Club.
